This poor soul was seen being thrown out of a moving car by a woman last weekend on Rt. 61 in Shoemakersville, PA. The dog named, BJ (Baby Jesus) was taken to Berks Animal Hospital and examined by Dr. Gerald Tishman where BJ was found to have a broken pelvis, dislocated jaw, bruising and internal injuries. The lhasa apso/poodle mix was in very, very poor shape after the deliberate act of cruelty perpetrated against him.
Karen Ulrich who runs a mixed breed dog rescue was the person who was called to help BJ. The only way BJ was going to be released from the vet’s office was to give him to someone who knew how to operate an IV and to look for signs of distress.
Enter my friend and fellow animal advocates, Nellie Briscoe and her mother. Nellie tells me that BJ aka Winchester (named by Nellie) was nothing but skin and bones- the worst she’s ever seen. As stated in the news clip, the poor dog’s fur was entirely matted. Nellie and her mother began the IV drip. He tried to get closer and wanted to be shown love. Nellie tells me that’s exactly what she did. BJ/Winchester rested on her lap for an hour. Probably the first time he was shown love.
Nellie, her mother and their neighbor watched him overnight and he appeared to be improving. Sadly, he took a turn for the worse the next morning. He had to go back to the vet.
BJ/Winchester lost his life within an hour after arriving at the vet. At least this poor, precious soul knew love before he took his final breath.
The dog was thrown from a Gold Saturn last Sunday on Rt. 61 in Shoemakersville. No license plate number was retrieved.
IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THE WOMAN WHO KILLED THIS DOG, KNOW THE OWNER OF THE GOLD SATURN OR KNOW THE WOMAN WHO NO LONGER HAS A LHASA APSO/POODLE MIX DOG, PLEASE CALL THE POLICE AT ONCE. THIS WOMAN NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT UP ON CHARGES OF ANIMAL CRUELTY! WE NEED YOUR HELP.
PLEASE HELP TO BRING JUSTIC TO BJ/WINCHESTER.
RIP…SWEET, PRECIOUS BJ/WINCHESTER. YOU WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN!
I can’t begin to express the horror, anger and sorrow I feel for this little guy. I wonder if he never experienced love. His matted fur and the fact that he was skin and bones is an indicator that he wasn’t. I wonder what kind of life he had. This poor guy trusted that very woman only for her to literally throw him out of a moving car. What is wrong with someone’s brain to commit such a cruel act of animal abuse? My heart grieves for that dog. A dog I never knew. A dog I will never forget. Perhaps, this isn’t “politically correct”, but I hope that woman rots in hell for what she did.
I am so glad he was in the hands of my friend and her mother. I know he did experience love before he took his final breath. I am so sorry, BJ/Winchester. Your life never should have ended so tragically.
