I came across an extremely sick video of this woman/girl (pictured) a couple of days ago who appears to be throwing live puppies into a river. She can be heard saying “whee!” before throwing one of the puppies. It came to my attention via Facebook.
I, like so many others, was immediately outraged and have been trying to discover who could commit such an unthinkable act of animal cruelty. I helped to spread the word on Facebook. And believe it or not, they have narrowed down the area to Bosnia through the help of 4Chan.
4Chan is a site I do not frequent but became aware of because they are so good at finding people who abuse animals. This site was the one who identified Mary Bale- the woman who dumped the cat in the trash bin in England.
The video was originally placed on YouTube and LiveLeak where they have since been removed. YouTube has come under attack because they allow people to post videos depicting the abuse of animals. I, for one, have signed on to fight to get YouTube to stop this horrible practice. Both YouTube and Live Leak need to recognize the harm they are doing by allowing such videos to be posted.
PETA and Joe Panz from Rescue Ink are both offering a $2,000 reward to find this despicable female and anyone who helped with the taping of this deviant. In Defense of Animals (IDA) is offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest, prosecution and conviction of person (s) who were involved in this video. Scotlund Haisley, President of IDA, will be a speaker at Puppy Mill Awareness Day on Saturday, September 18th.
Some have questioned the authenticity of the video. I have decided against posting the video. I have read that over 500,000 people have viewed the video. I will not give this person any more attention than what she has already received.
While the internet can be a wealth of information it also serves as a platform for animal abusers to showcase the horrific acts they commit against animals. YouTube allows these videos to be posted. Unless people complain, sick people will continue to post these types of videos. I feel YouTube and LiveLeak have a responsibility not only to the welfare of animals but to us, NOT to allow such videos to be shown. They are perpetuating more of the same behavior. And this is criminal – plain and simple. And when torturing animals isn’t enough, will they turn their acts of criminal behavior on humans? Will these videos be posted as well?
I have joined the fight to stop YouTube from allowing these types of videos to be posted. And the people who are making these videos know they are being viewed and they love it! They are being given a platform to commit animal cruelty and this must stop!
