I watched a video on Facebook two days ago of a woman petting a cat and then picking it up and dumping it into a plastic trash can. I could not believe my eyes. I posted the story asking others what happened to the cat and if they found the woman. I also wanted to know where this occurred. A friend of mine who originates from England wrote to me and said it appeared to be England. And he was correct.
Since that video went viral on Facebook, not only do we know how the cat is but who the woman is. Lola, a 4 yr. old cat and Mary Bale (pictured)- the culprit.
Because of surveillance tape by the owners of the house, Darryl and Stephanie Mann, the woman could be clearly seen committing this heinous act.
Lola was picked up and dumped in the trash bin because Mary Bale said it was a joke and thought it would be funny, according to the Huffington Post. You can view the video with this link. Bale thought the cat could climb out of the bin.
Since this video went viral and Mary’s identity has been revealed, she has received death threats on the internet. Some early reports say the police are protecting her.
Lola had gone missing last Saturday and was found 16 hours later by the Manns when they heard her cries.
What sick, twisted mind pets and dumps a cat into a trash bin and then claims it was funny?
Original reports stated no charges would be filed against her. Now the RSPCA is looking into charging her with animal cruelty. I don’t understand why charges would not have been filed immediately. The cat would have died if not found. Thank God for the surveillance tape.
What a disturbing case no matter what angle you look at this. What I don’t understand and haven’t heard anyone speak of is why the Manns allowed their cat to roam around freely in their neighborhood where anyone or a car could have easily injured or ended her life. I hope they have learned a valuable lesson and keep their cat indoors!
