Why has a video been ignored by the PA Department of Environmnental Protection (DEP) taken on October 23, 2011 by SHARK (Showing Animals Respect and Kindness) clearly showing pigeons and tires being illegally burned after a live pigeon shoot at Winge Pointe Club, Berks County, PA?
SHARK’s remote-controlled drone (as seen in above photo earlier this year) captured images showing Winge Pointe illegally burning hazardous waste and the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) refuses to do its job.
This is what the US EPA’s website has to say about burning tires.
“Tire fires often become major hazardous incidents affecting entire communities—frequently requiring neighborhood evacuations and long, drawn-out fire extinguishing operations. These fires threaten pollution of the air, soil, and water. EPA, states, municipalities, and private companies have spent millions of dollars cleaning up tire fires across the country.”
In response to the 2011 incident, the DEP told Winge Pointe “not to burn again.” The original video in question taken on October 23, 2011, SHARK’s drone videotaped the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-t_Gk3eH9k. The video speaks for itself.
SHARK knew Winge Pointe would engage in the same illegal activity again and without fail, they did so on September 13th and 15th of this year.
Despite the illegal burning, a man named “Dan” from the DEP left a message for SHARK on September 19th stating they told Winge Pointe to get rid of the ashes and the club would be closely monitored for the next couple of months and would be cited if it they catch them burning tires. Why are they not being cited now for participating in an illegal activity? If there are no consequences, there is no motive for them to stop.
Winge Pointe has a history where they suffer few repercussions for their actions no matter what shady operations they utilize whether it’s live pigeon shoots or hazardous waste burning. Animal cruelty via the live pigeon shoots, burning tires, or hitting Steve Hindi with a moving vehicle, all stemming from Winge Pointe, has drawn few or no major ramifications for this club. The slaps on the wrist are a cruel joke because the abuse of animals for the use of live pigeon shoots, the dumping of live pigeons into a pile, setting them on fire, the harmful effects of the emissions of the illegal burning of tires and the harrassment of those people who keep working to stop these activities continue because someone won’t enforce the law or deem it unnecessary to do so in these cases involving this particular club.
To hear what SHARK president, Steve Hindi, has to say about this latest news, click on their youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jX5qZlT6Tk
Mr. Hindi also speaks about the use of drones. “Drones have gotten a bad name lately, but it is important to understand that they are a useful tool that can help protect the environment against polluters,” states Hindi. “burning plastics and other hazardous materials is dangerous and poses serious health risks to the community surrounding Wing Pointe. Without the drone, the burnings would have continued unabated.”
Right you are, Steve.
The PA DEP did nothing about illegal tire burning when the proof was given to them. Why do they refuse to enforce the law?
If you are interested in contacting the PA DEP, their number is 717-705-4700 or email them at RA-epcontactus@pa.gov. I will let you know when I receive a response.

It seems so obvious that there are people in positions that either regulate laws or rules are part of the problem because they don’t have an issue with pigeon shoot. In SHARK’s one video, someone involved wiith. Pa state police is a pigeon shooter. Do you think he’s going to do anything against Winge Pointe. Of course not. They have their butts covered. Then the law isn’t upheld. Anyone in charge of upholding the law and don’t should be fired!

I get so sick of hearing how people who abuse animals, people, the environment, etc is free to do it and nothing happens to them. If I did something against the law, I would be arrested and charged. I don’t have high-price lawyers able enabling me to get away with all of this.

Until they outlaw pigeon shoots in Pa, they will go on and so will the trash burning. They help each other. So corrupt. You can’t win against them!

Crooked people allow this crap to continue.

If you look at the money, they have powerful people backing them up. The very people that are to uphold the law. What a joke!

Because they don’t care. As simple as that! But, why don’t they care? That’s the bigger question!
