When will we stop dogs from being chained? This bill keeps being introduced and nothing happens. What gives?
Calrton says
I want to know why PA legislators won’t pass a bill to stop pigeon shoots.
Humane says
Good question. It is clearly animal cruelty and if puppies were being launched from traps in front of awaiting shooters who wound more than they kill, the bill would be passed in seconds. We all have to work together to demand a vote and eventually it will happen.
Cinda says
All right! Go Roy!!
Betty says
More people need to contact their legislators so they know what’s important to their constituents. We vote them in and we can vote them out.
Betty says
And I hope I can get home in time to see the show!
Susan says
I really wanted to see a show like this.

Caught the show. It was great. Extremely informative. I didnt realize how important politicians are for animal legislation. I can’t make Humane Lobby Day but I will continue to call me legislators. Your guest was quite impressive.
Susan says
Really loved the show! Guest was great and so informed about the issues. I didn’t know there were so many bills introduced. That never happens. All of you keep up the great work!

Saw your show. I heard Sen. Afferblach say if we go to Humane Lobby Day, they will have a list of three or four bills to discuss with our politicians and the anti-tethering bill isn’t one they want us to talk to them about.
No thanks. I’m very interested in that bill. I see too many of my neighbors with dogs tied outside 24/7. That bill is important to me because it means saving those dogs’ lives. I don’t want them dictating what bills to talk about. This is for the HSUS and not about the animals.
It was a good show but I am disappointed that it boils down to “politics” even with the HSUS.

In fact when someone doesn’t understand the bills, going to humane lobby day seems like a good idea. You can get a better idea of the bills and they will help you become better acquainted with them and our legislators. Good idea for humane lobby day. Wish I could go. I have to work for a living and can’ get off. Good luck to all that do go.

It’s awesome to go to see this web page and reading the views of all colleagues regarding this paragraph, while I am also zealous of getting familiarity.

Is there any way I can see this show? I really wanted to catch it but couldn’t. Thanks.

Sorry, I didn’t get to see your show. I’ve gone to one of Sen. Afflerbach’s seminars. I imagine he was quite good on your show. Hope you have him on again.

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s equally
educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that too few people are speaking intelligently about- the political aspect when it comes to animals. We have rescues, social media making us aware of different animal causes, people helping animals, shelters, and more. This is a part that’s missing. I am very happy I found this in my hunt for something regarding this.

I don’t want to be told which bills I’m supposed to talk to my lawmakers about. I’m passionate about certain bills and those are the bills I make a great effort to get passed. I think it’s wrong for the HSUS to tell us what bills to talk about. They set up the appointments for you. They tell you what to say. You’re a puppet for them. If a bill gets passed, they get the credit, not you. Think about it.

Thanks very interesting blog! Good show! Senator Afflerbach seems to be a reasonable person. Why can’t we have more compassionate politicians who care about animals?

Hello! This is my first visit to your blog! I didn’t see your show. It seems like an interesting show with Senator Afflerbach on it. It appears you probably covered alot on that show. Is there a chance I can catch it? I doubt it since it was live. Just asking.

What a great topic. I needs to spend some time studying much more or understanding more the bills the two were talking about. We need to end pigeon shoots. But, as someone else wrote, the big lobby group always stops this. Does anyone ask why they do? I also want to see dogs become unchained. That bill doesn’t seem to go anywhere for alot of years. I remember when Tamira Thayne chained herself to a dog house on the steps of the capitol in Harrisburg to no avail. It’s commonsense to say a dog shouldn’t be chained. A no-brainer, if you will. It’s ridiculous to wait years or decades for legislation to pass to help animals!

I noticed how your guest only mentioned the HSUS sponsoring humane lobby day. I know the ASPCA is also a sponsor of this since I received an email from them. Do I sense rivalry between the two? Wink Wink.

Keep this going please, great job!

Sen. Afflerbach is a wonderful and sincere man who will go out of his way to help others understand advocating for animals. Such an inspiration. Wish we had more politicians like him.
