“My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it’s [sic] head! Vet of the year award … Gladly accepted.”
Kristen Lindsey (pictured) , the South Florida veterinarian who killed a cat earlier this year with a bow and arrow may lose her license next month.
In April Ms. Lindsey posted this photograph on her Facebook page. The backlash was tremendous. The public became enraged and called her place of employment (animal hospital) where she was fired shortly after the incident.
The cat Lindsey killed was allegedly the neighbor’s cat, Tiger, who had gone missing around the same time as when the vet had killed this cat.
On June 24th, it was decided no charges for Animal Cruelty would be filed against Lindsey after the Austin County Grand Jury determined there was insufficient proof to charge Lindsey with a crime.
It is a defense to an Animal Cruelty charge if a person is protecting his or her own pets from an attack which is what Lindsey reported. She said she acted to protect her pets from a potentially rabid stray cat in Austin County.
Last week, It was determined that Lindsey violated the code of conduct associated with her veterinary license by the Texas Veterinary Medical Examiner’s Board. Many groups testified before the Board about how she “violated the rules attached to her license.”
The Board agreed this vet did break those rules. The Board is expected to announce the penalties in October for the violations which could include losing her veterinary license.

This bitch should be shot with the same arrow. How could anyone do this to any pet let alone their own. She should never be allowed to treat anything alive let alone dead. She should not only lose her lic but her life as well. May she burn in hell

A veterinarian takes an oath to help animals not bring them harm. Her poor excuse about a rabid cat doesn’t add up. Why didn’t she report it? Why would she kill it the way she did- with a bow and arrow?! She’s gloating. NO good vet would gloat over killing a cat. Her license needs to be revoked.

I want to wipe that smirk right off her face!

If the cat had rabies, Tiger’s head would’ve been cut off and sent to a lab. There was never any news saying rabies was found. What signs did she see to suggest rabies? Of course, she never saw any signs. Killing an innocent cat for the sake of killing will be the doom of this once upon a time vet. Can you tell I’m angry?

She absolutely should lose her license!

No vet with morals would ever kill a cat with an arrow and brag about it on top. She should’ve lost her license when this first happened. I hope it’s taken away from her. She said where she worked would never get rid of her since she was the best vet. Guess she knows that’s no longer true. What a horrible thing for an animal doctor to do! Take her license away!

She should absolutely lose her license as a vet. There’s something fundamentally missing from this girl. She clearly has psychological issues and should persue a career that does not allow her medical access to animals or people
