UPDATE ON THE COTON de TULEAR:
The USACTC has been named the AKC Parent Club for the Coton de Tulear. They may have received that privilege but the Coton de Tulear has still not been AKC recognized. There is no standing on the fence any longer. You pick a side and you either fight FOR the Coton or you fight to SHOW the Coton. There are no in betweens. If you are a member of the USACTC Club, then you are pro-AKC and you support Puppy Mills. Please join us in our continued opposition of AKC recognition for the Coton de Tulear!
For more information how to fight the AKC recognition, check out their website at www.americancotonclub.com. Please, we can’t let this happen. If this breed is AKC recognized, it will mean this breed will suffer the same fate of other breeds of dogs in puppy mills. If you care about what is happening, I urge you to keep up to date on this important issue by clicking on the above link!
PROPOSITION B GETS GUTTED IN MISSOURI-
From the ASPCA -“On Wednesday, April 13, the Missouri House of Representatives voted 85-71 to reject the will of the state’s voters and eliminate all of the newly established humane improvements outlined in the Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act (PMCPA). The PMCPA, which is scheduled to go into effect in November, was passed five months ago by popular vote as “Proposition B” to more tightly regulate conditions at the state’s thousands of commercial dog breeding facilities.”
” Unless it is vetoed by Governor Jay Nixon, the bill the House just passed (SB 113) will not only supersede the PMCPA—which includes such humane provisions as increased cage size, prohibition on the use of wire flooring and restrictions on breeding frequency—it will make parts of the state’s commercial breeding law even weaker than they are now.”
Here why Proposition B was overturned here.
It appears the voiceS of the people and their votes do not count in the state of Missouri. It was last November when the people of Missouri voted FOR Prop B. This is NOT democracy. The legislators decide to overturn all of the good Prop B provided for dogs/puppies that suffer in puppy mills in the state that clearly has the highest number of mills.
We, here in PA, are battling a similar problem. Our dog law, aCT 119, that was supposed to have been one of the strongest in the nation has been watered down and continues to do so. We are headed back to the old dog law.
What is happening when it comes to puppy mills and the law? Why do legislator side with the puppy mill breeders KNOWING full well the hell and the horrific lives these animals endure?!
“The fate of millions of dogs now hangs on the decision of one man. The ASPCA implores all of our supporters to contact everyone you know in Missouri; ask them to call Governor Nixon to urge him to veto SB 113 (please do not call the governor if you live outside Missouri).”
