The discussions between the Kerkstein’s lawyer and Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) ended with the return of Flash to his home earlier today. The entire family including Flash went out for dinner to celebrate his homecoming.
Flash is seen here with the Kerkstein’s sons at home. It appears Flash is tired and resting peacefully.
The following is a statement from the Kerkstein’s about Flash and MLAR. It appears on “Send Flash Home” facebook page and MLAR’s facebook page. In my opinion, their statement seems a bit contrived and most likely was part of the deal to have Flash returned home.
“We are pleased to report that we have resolved our differences with Main Line Animal Rescue and we have now been reunited with “Flash”. In the future, we will ensure that “Flash” always wears his collar containing his identification tag so that this never happens again.
With this matter now resolved, we wish to move forward, and request that members of the… community, and our supporters stop any negative comments on social media or elsewhere about MLAR. For more than 16 years, MLAR has assisted in the placement of thousands of animals into loving homes. With more than 500 active volunteers MLAR has done a tremendous amount of good for all animals. We regret that MLAR and their volunteers were cast in such a negative light and are elated this story has a happy ending.
Our family is so happy to have our Flash back home, safe and sound. Although emotions ran high during this ordeal, we never doubted MLAR’s passion and dedication to all animals. Without the dedication of MLAR, we would not h ave known Flash and are so excited this situation has been resolved and he is back home with his Family.”
What I find interesting is the lack of statement from MLAR or Bill Smith on the resolution.
I’m quite sure the Kerkstein’s have learned some valuable lessons through their ordeal. Many others feel MLAR and Bill Smith should have also learned invaluable insights.
Welcome home, Flash!

This family already lost Flash. They should’ve had to have gone through this. I won’t ever adopt from a rescue. They make is nearly impossible to adopt from them. They think you’re not good enough for their animals. I love my pets more than anyone. I spend alot on vet care but I have no fence. None of my dogs or cats ever ran away. I’m a good pet guardian but some of the rescues wouldn’t allow me to have a pet becasue I have no fence. They force people to buy pets. They play God and they’re not! Glad to hear the good news about Flash!

Smith saw the light and forced this statement down the Krekstein’s throat so they could get Flash in return.

Great news for Flash and his family. Poor dog was used a pawn by the rescue. What does that say about the rescue?

Someone is full of themselves by allowing this to happen.
