The conduct portrayed in the video is reprehensible and potentially a violation of the law.
Pennsylvania State Game Wardens are currently investigating the matter. If you have any information related to the video, we ask that you report it to the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-888–PGC-8001 or the Game Commission’s Northwest Region Dispatch Office at 814-432-3187.
Thank you for your help and for your concern for Pennsylvania wildlife.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is investigating two males who shared a video on facebook this past Saturday night of them assaulting a buck. The video is graphic and shows the two males kicking the deer’s face, ripping the deer’s antlers from his head and stepping on his throat while he was still alive. The buck tried to get away but couldn’t due to his injury from being shot. The males can be heard laughing and asking each other if the buck was still alive.
Saturday was the first day of rifle season for antlered deer in Pennsylvania. The video was allegedly taken in Brookville, Pennsylvania. The video isn’t posted here due to its graphic nature.
The Game Commission has stated “The conduct portrayed in the video is reprehensible and potentially a violation of law.”
The two males have been found and I’ve heard they are at least 18 years old but the Game Commission hasn’t substantiated this. What happens to them remains to be seen.
Hunters were the first ones to say something about the video and soon the video went viral and now many others have seen it.
People have identified the suspects and at least one parent and the name of his business. Some suggest the parents should be charged in this case. The two males are the ones who committed this assault.
I hope they are charged with a crime.
President Trump signed the PACT ACT on November 4th making certain types of egregious animal cruelty a felony in all states. However, the law doesn’t apply to animals hunted for food.
The agency has asked if there isinformation related to the incident report it to the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-888–PGC-8001 or the Game Commission’s Northwest Region Dispatch Office at 814-432-3187.

Disgusting human beings. Their hunting licenses should be revoked. They should have charges brought against them.
Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein says
I agree with charges being brought against these two males. They shouldn’t be able to get away with being cruel to a deer in this manner. It’s horrendous! Thx!

Potential crime?
Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein says
When I read that, it was baffling to me as well. Not potentially a crime but a crime. I hope the Game Commission does the right thing. Thx!
