The National Bird- The Bald Eagle
Check out the live Bald Eagle Nesting Cam here located in Oklahoma. Make sure to scroll down the page to view the current nesting site. The eggs may be hatching any day.
With Spring right around the corner- disregard the snow that we woke up to this morning or the snowy forecast for this evening – millions of people enjoy birdwatching also known as birding this time of year. Some want to see the vibrant colors that aren’t found in any other animals. Still others take joy in their flight patterns. Spring is also a great time to watch the migration patterns of different birds. Whatever the reasons are, birdwatching is quite popular.
Tomorrow’s program will focus on everything about birds. Joining me will be Jack Holcomb, host of WEEU’s “Jack’s Backyard”, heard every Saturday 8 -10 AM. Peggy Hentz, Executive Director of Red Creek Wildlife Center and her assistant Jean Thomas will be joining the panel as well. Gabby the owl, Peggy’s educational mascot will also be on hand.
Tune in tomorrow evening @ 7:30 PM on BCTV. As always, viewers are encouraged and welcomed to call in during the live program.
As for me, I don’t care what the meteorologists are forecasting tonight- 3-6 inches of the white “stuff”- Spring will be here March 20! I am an optimist!
Many thanks to Linda G. for the link to the eagle cam!!
