SeaWorld’s Director of Animal Training Kelly Flaherty-Clark released the following statement about Tilikum’s current health status:
“We’re continuing to work with the veterinary and animal care teams to treat Tilikum’s illness. His energy level and appetite have both improved since he started this course of treatment, and that is positive. In the last several days, Tilikum has increased engagement with his trainers and also with the other whales in the facility that are often showing interest in him. We understand that he is very ill and will have good days and bad, but our team is cautiously optimistic about his response to treatment thus far.

Wouldn’t it be something if he pulled through? Then again, how cruel would it be to continue living like that?

Tilikum is dying, I thought.

Poor Tilly. I’m sure they’re taking good care of him but living a life like this has been so cruel to him despite all the good intentions of trainers.

Seaworld knows how to spin on things by lying! They’re so good at it. I’ve never gone there and never will.

Tilikum is still alive but I wonder how bad he is since we don’t hear anything. Keeping him imprisoned for decades is a crime to me. He deserved so much better as do all circus animals. Being forced to perform so others can make money off of them is so disgraceful and disgusting. I don’t see how they can live with themselves!
