The Perry County PA Animal Rescue located in Millerstown, Pennsylvania, is searching for a permanent home for a three-five year old Akita named Tedrick. Tedrick aka Teddy wants you to know that this rescue has taken very good care of him but they know he’s ready to go to a forever home.
Teddy is so anxious to find someone that he wants you to know he is a marshmallow who loves to snuggle and be petted.
Hey guys, let me tell my own story! Thank you.
I am a goofball and love to play and roll around like one too! I know I’m handsome. Just look at my picture. Don’t you think so? I’m also proud. Proud like a big teddy bear. Guess that’s why I’m called Teddy. 🙂 I’m no small dog. I weigh 86 pounds!
Even though I like taking walks and do well on a leash, you have to be able to control me. Let me tell you, if I see a squirrel, deer, cat or bunny, I will pull because I’m so strong and stubborn. I love to run after them.
They tell me a fenced yard is best for me. I will also need to be on leash at all times so I don’t run off or after an animal.
If you pet and hug me, I will sit by your side forever!! Wouldn’t that be great?? I think so!
Can you believe I can’t remember living in a house? You will have to teach me the rules of a home. I do keep my kennel pretty tidy and try to wait until walk time to care of business.
The rescue also believes that I would do best with someone who understands my breed, the Akita. FYI- Akitas are strong-willed but very loyal. We are also known for being the protector and good with children. Since I do weigh 86 lbs., toddlers may not be a idea. Being my size, I may knock one over and I would feel very badly if I did that unintentionally.
You should also know that cats aren’t my cup of tea but I think I like other dogs. My foster friends, Molly and her pups, are so much FUN! If you want to see me interact with them, check out this video: http://youtu.be/m_LGyL8hKSc As you can see, I’m a big bundle of joy who wants to have fun!
If you would like to like have a handsome fluff ball like myself to be your friend and also be a forever home for me, please contact the Perry County PA Animal Rescue.
