Tamira Ci Thayne, Founder and CEO of Dogs Deserve Better
I’m well aware the World Series is on tv tomorrow night. Believe me, I am rooting for the Phillies to win!!
However, I hope you will tune in to my BCTV program @ 7:30 prior to the game tomorrow evening for a very important topic that I personally feel has been neglected amongst many other important animal issues in the news.
Tamira Ci Thayne (formerly Tami Grimes), Founder and CEO of Dogs Deserve Better will be my featured guest. Tami has done an outstanding job in helping dogs who have lived their lives tied (tethered) to dog houses, sheds, fences etc. by chains, ropes and leashes. Some for their entire lives- 24/7.
Tami is an outstanding advocate for these victims. Tami is trying to get House Bill 1254 passed into law so the lives of these tethered dogs can finally improve. Learn more about this important piece of legislation and what you and I can do to help get this bill passed.
Tami was arrested on September 11, 2006 for removing Doogie, a 19 German Shephard dog in East Freedom, PA. Doogie was chained to a dog box and hadn’t moved for three days. After repeated attempts by a neighbor to get a Humane Officer out to this home to check on Doogie, Tami was contacted by a neighbor. Tami did take matters into her own hands and I , for one, am glad she did.
This is how she found Doogie. Doogie’s body appeared lifeless but he was still alive. Tami took him to a vet and he finally received the proper care.
What ensued received national attention. Find out what happened to Tami and Doogie on tomorrow evening’s program.
This is a live call-in program. Your questions/comments are always welcomed. You may also send any questions for Tami directly to me at tevangelistaepp@yahoo.com.
You can also streamline this show live at BCTV @ 7:30 tomorrow evening.
