A Minneapolis woman attempted to mail a puppy in a sealed box for a relative’s 11th birthday, writing on the outside of the sealed box- “It’s what you wanted.” It was to be sent to Georgia.
The woman, Stacey Champion, told the postal worker a toy robot was inside the box and they should be careful with the package because it was so delicate.
After the woman left the post office, the package moved and made noises. With permission from the post office, the package was opened and inside was a puppy named Guess.
The woman has been charged with animal cruelty. Get this…..she was charged $22.00 top ship the package and she wants her money back!
Stacey Champion has 10 days to appeal the misdemeanor charge. If she “declines or loses” the appeal, Guess will go up for adoption at the local animal control facility.
I can’t understand how there could be any chance of this woman getting the puppy back. Guess would have perished in a short amount of time taped inside that box.
When asked if she wanted to know how the puppy was, Champion said no.
Is this woman just plain stupid, mentally ill or insane or all three? She knew she was sending a puppy by punching holes in the box. But she taped the holes. She also told the postal worker that the contents were delicate. She seems she knew what she was sending but did she understand the consequences of her actions?
Did this woman know what she was doing? You decide.
(Many thanks to Linda G. for this story.)
