How could anyone forget about the story of Daisy, the 4 yr. old beagle I wrote about last month? Daisy was found by hunters in Saratoga County, New York – her head, front legs and body, all duct-taped and placed in a garbage bag left to die. Her nostrils were not covered.
The hunters saw her push her legs through the garbage bag. She was alive, but barely. She lost 20 pounds. She was in grave condition.
Daisy was taken to a veterinarian who removed the duct tape. She was malnuourished but is expected to make a full recovery. A microchip placed under her skin led to her being reunited with her owners.
I was asked in my previous post if I knew where to send money for a fund that was set up for the reward leading to information and to the arrest of the person(s) who committed this horrific act of animal cruelty. I did not know of any fund.
A commenter to that post has given me the information for anyone interested in giving to the fund that has been set up for Daisy. The HSUS and the New York Humane Association and private citizens have donated money. The reward stands at $6,000 thus far.
If you wish to donate to this fund, the address is:
New York State Humane Association, c/o The Daisy Fund, PO Box 3068, Kingston, NY 12402.
Their phone number is 845-336-4514.
Let’s hope justice is served for Daisy. If anyone knows anything, please contact the New York Humane Association or the HSUS.
Many thanks to the commenter for the information.
