Today’s awarness day in Lancaster County was the largest since its inception 5 yrs. ago. I don’t have an official count but I believe it was approximately 1,000 people! It was a fantastic showing of support from the public, organizations , rescue groups, speakers and more. Thanks to everyone who was there!
It has been a long week for me between doing tv and radio interviews promoting awareness day and the puppymill legislation, going to Harrisburg, talking to legislators, writing this blog etc…., I am soooo tired.
Since I am tired, I will write about this event in a future entry but I will leave you with some pictures. But before I do I’d like to share a few thoughts……
I want to send a special thank you to Walt, Carol and Kathy ~ these three organize awareness day each year and their hard work and dedication to this cause inspire me. You three do a fantastic job!! It was a great day and as you and I said Walt all of us will continue with our fight and we, the residents of PA, will get House Bill 2525 passed !!!!! CALL YOUR SENATORS ON MONDAY!! It’s important for you to tell them to vote for HB2525. It appears a vote will be taken this week. The dogs need your help desperately NOW!!
To Chris DeRose, President of Last Chance for Animals, it was great to meet you personally. Knowing the pain you were in from your knee and back surgeries and you still participated in the walk says what a devoted man you are to the animals. I hope you feel better soon. Chris has been supporting awareness day since it started and will continue to support this important cause.
I also want to say to Linda, it was very nice to meet you and your husband and I want to thank you personally for wrecking my surprise trip to Woofstock next weekend for my husband…… she knows I’m kidding!!!
And to the sick guy from Rescue Ink- feel better! And to the other guy from Rescue Ink- perhaps I did have a subpeona in my hands – you’ll never know- JUST KIDDING!!!!!! Don’t let the tough exteriors of the Rescue Ink guys fool you. They each have a heart of gold when it comes to animals and they are here to fight for the rights of the animals.
Anyway, I will write more about awareness day in a future entry. Meanwhile, here are some photos from today….
