Witnesses saw a pitbull puppy thrown from a roof of a building in Allentown.
The witnesses who watched in horror as the puppy was thrown from the roof took this poor guy to a local animal hospital where it was discovered all four legs and paws were broken . Although he is not in good condition, his prognosis is good and is expected to walk again. “Wally” is scheduled for the first of two operations this Tuesday. Wally has casts on his legs at the moment as you can see from the photo.
Who could commit such a heinous act of animal cruelty? Who could do this? Was it his owner or a jealous boyfriend who threw Wally off the roof in a fit of rage? According to the Lehigh County Humane Society, they have no clues who did this.
If people saw this happen and evidently they did, didn’t they see the poor excuse of a person or persons on the top of the building? Are there apartments in the building? Are they asking other people in the building? Someone had to have seen someone walking or carrying a puppy in that building.
So who could commit such a heinous act of animal cruelty? Studies have shown that a large percentage who commit such crimes against animals commit at least one other criminal offense such as drug trafficking, theft, assault, rape and homicide. These studies also showed a link between violence toward women and children and animal abuse.
So was this a jealous/angry boyfriend or husband who wanted to retaliate against a woman? See, I just can’t make sense of this violent and despicable crime against a defenseless puppy. Who does this? If a boyfriend/husband did this, it would make sense that the woman didn’t come forward to claim her puppy. First, she would be scared she would be next and second, the puppy is in a safe place now- away from the monster who did this.
If you know who did this, contact the Lehigh County Humane Society or the Allentown Police.
While Wally is recovering, he is safe and in a loving home. If he becomes available for adoption at a later date, I know there will be a long list of people wanting and so willing to give him a second chance at a better life. That always happens when these stories reach the news.
Wally is one tenacious puppy to have survived such horrific injuries. And yet the people who are taking care of him say he is such a mild-mannered and sweet dog. Ironic, isn’t it?
