This Wednesday, October 10th, SHARK (Showing Animals Respect and Kindness) will be holding a press conference in Harrisburg to reveal “shocking new footage of obscene animal abuse recorded” at Winge Pointe Hunting Resort located in Berks County, PA, during their last pigeon tower shoot as I had previously written. The tower shoot footage was taken on Sunday, September 30th.
According to SHARK investigators, the video to be released on Wednesday will show “shooters laughing and joking during grotesque abuse.” SHARK continues to say in their press release I received that victims (pigeons) were “crushed, stomped, and had their heads ripped off.” “Pigeons were kicked, swung around, thrown in the air and hurled to the ground.” According to SHARK reps, young boys were seen to have caused “some of the worst documneted abuse.”
What lessons are being taught to impressionable boys to inflict pain and cruelty against innocent birds? So many mature into grown men thinking this behavior is acceptable and normal. Thus, the cycle of pigeon shoots continues.
Stu Chaifetz , SHARK rep and guest on my tv program, stated the following: “I’ve exposed animal cruelty for more than 20 years, but this is the worst I’ve seen.” The Pennsylvania State Police and Berks County District Attorney John Adams have refused to enforce the law, and have enabled and emboldened the killers. The abuse today is worse than it was twenty years ago at the infamous Hegins Pigeon Shoot.”
According to the HSUS, Hegins, PA, was the site of the most notorious pigeon shoots in the U.S. from 1934-1998. Many groups demonstrated year after year to shut down these shoots. They also videotaped the carnage committed against the pigeons. Charges were filed against the operators. Ultimately the PA Supreme Court ruled that pigeon shoots were cruel and moronic. Because of this ruling, sponsors (Hegins Labor Day Committee) of the Hegins shoot settled charges against them by permanently closing the barbaric and infamous Hegins Pigeon shoots. The PA Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was given the ability to enforce the cruelty to animal law at the shoot in 1999. Hegins did not hold a shoot in 1999 but held a fair.
SHARK has asked Berks County District Attorney John Adams, Police Commissioner, Frank Noonan or any of either staff to attend this press conference. SHARK wants answers as to why, according to them, why no action has been taken against Winge Pointe for being in violation of PA Humane Law 5511. John Hohenwater, NRA Lobbyist, has also been invited. According to SHARK, Mr. Hohenwater will be given an opportunity to explain why the NRA supports and protects such cruel and illegal activity.
I have openly stated that I would hold a debate allowing Berks County DA John Adams and SHARK rep, Stuart Chaifetz, to be on my tv show to have a fair discussion about pigeon shoots and the offer still remains.
On Wednesday, Stuart will speak about the latest Winge Pointe investigation. PA Humane Police Officer, Johnna Seeton, will also speak at the press conference. Officer Seeton had had filed five citations earlier this year against Bucks County’s Philadelphia Gun Club for cruelty against animals (pigeons) with all charges being dismissed by Bucks County DA Heckler. Officer Seeton had filed charges against this club previously with those charges dismissed as well.
The press conference will be held at the Rotunda, Capitol Building, Harrisburg from 11AM-12PM. SHARK’s goal, along with other animal advocates, is to end PA’s live pigeon shoots.
