Martha Kahan, President of NNN, has informed me that they have moved to a larger location and hired another vet so they are now in the position to provide these services to underserved areas outside of the LV area. Which means Berks will benefit from their much-needed low-cost spay/neuter services.
Martha continues to state that NNN’s goal is to provide this clinic the 4th Sunday of each month to the Berks community. “We are providing 25 slots per clinic for ferals and owned cats.”
So far 10 slots have been filled for July 25th, so you better contact them ASAP.
Funding is available for feral colony caretakers through SPAYUSA. Check out their website or call them at 1-800-248-7729. Or call go to NNN’s website: http://www.nnnlv.org/. NNN has referred dozens to them since last December.
SPAYUSA sends the check directly to NNN. The amount SPAY/USA provides depends upon the funding at the time of request. It has ranged from $20 to $30 per cat up to 8 cats.Colony size must be at least 5. This is not for owned or rescue cats. NNN charges a co-pay to reach our $35 fee for ferals.
Martha aslo states “When the caretakers call for financial assistance, they will be informed while on the phone if they have been approved. They need to provide the name of the clinic, address and contact, which is Suzanne Weimer.”
This information is on the resource sheet.
