Has anyone seen this dog? Her name is Elsie and she has been missing since June 27th around 7 AM. Her owner, Cheryl Gehman, states that she was spotted at the Governor Mifflin High School Football field in Shillington area which is where Elsie resides. Unfortuantely Elsie hasn’t been seen since.
According to Cheryl, Elsie is a 2-3 yr. old spayed Chihuaha/Poodle mix. Elsie has had a tough beginning to her life. She continues to state that Dylan Eckhart, her nephew, of the Humane Society of Berks County, found her in a dumpster. She had two broken hips which has left her to practically hop with her back legs when she walks.
Her previous owner also “rubber banded her mouth shut with several large bands which made her lips grow into her gums and her teeth protrude”. She had surgery on her entire snouth and thus had to learn how to eat from a dropper, then soft food and finally semi-hard food.
According to Cheryl,” Elsie is not very pretty but she is the love of our lives.” I personally think Elsie is a cutie. She has all of her shots but she did not have her collar on at the time of her disappearance. She is white with stand-up ears.
Elsie is very scared of people but likes children.
If you have seen her or know someone who may have her, please contact Cheryl at once. Her phone number is 610-914-9391. A reward is being offered.
Whoever is reading this and you know the whereabouts of this sweet dog who has been through so much, please do the right thing and call her owner. Elsie’s family is heartsick and wants her back at home where she belongs.
