BELGRADE — A family that will adopt Mila the dog, who was found with all four of her paws cut off in April, has been selected.
I originally wrote about Mila back in April of this year. As stated above, Mila was found with all four paws cut off. My original entry read as follows:
Another brutal case of dog whose paws were cut off has reached the news. Mila, the name given to her, was found under a parked car in a suburb of Belgrade.. Apparently she suffered for up to 10 days like this with no help. She was hungry, dehydrated and in pain. But through it all she did not become aggressive. Unbelievable and remarkable.
Below is Mila today…waiting and ready to be adopted by a family that was chosen by “an expert commission consisting of representatives of animal protection associations, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the city communal institutions” after her horrific ordeal.
It is a miracle she survived this vicious attack. She is now doing well. She has been fitted with her fifth pair of special anatomic prostheses to walk again. She has completely accepted them and refuses to walk without them!
Donations were raised to cover the cost of the prostheses with money left over that will be used for animal-related causes.
Mila, which means, Darling, is truly a darling and she deserves a long, happy life! All the best to you Mila!
