As I stated months earlier on this blog, Philadelphia Eagle and convicted animal abuser, Michael Vick, will have his own 8-part docu-series named “The Michael Vick Project” airing in early 2010. It will now be aired on the BET network.
The purpose of this series is to spotlight his comeback with the Eagles and give his backstory – his childhood story that will tell how and why he ended up in the dogfighting world leading up to his 2007 arrest.
It is one thing to give a backstory about Vick’s story about how and why he ended up in brutal and barbaric world of dogfighting but I am getting sick and tired of this “man” being rewarded for the crimes he has committed against man’s best friend.
Do I think people will watch? Of course they will. Do I think many Eagle’s fans care about the crimes he committed? No. I have watched countless interviews with fans/spectators of the Eagles and all they are concerned about is making it to the Superbowl and they see Vick as the ticket to that ultimate prize. You won’t catch me watching the Eagles EVER while he is a player on this team.
As I have said before, Vick has put a spotlight on the world of dogfighting as no other and for me that is the positive side of what he has done. However, to keep getting publicity and a tv show is incomprehensible to me.
I believe in giving people second chances if they show true remorse. Vick needs to work on not only feeling true remorse but showing it by example. Don’t go on tv to showcase yourself. Do interviews but don’t have your own show. This makes me sick.
What is wrong with our society today?
