During the annual running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, nine men were hurt and one man, pictured above, died at an area hospital after being gored to death by one of the bulls.
Now, I ask you ~ should I feel sorry for these people who participate in this bull run? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t wish anyone to be killed. But, come on, this outcome is to be expected sooner or later. The last man to be killed in this spectacle occurred 15 years ago. And so the death toll from this odd activity stands at 15, at least since they started keeping records of the deaths in 1924.
Yes, I’ve been told it’s a different culture but I will never understand it and will never condone it. The purpose of this event is to transport bulls from off-site corrals where they spent the night and end up in the bullring after the “running of the bulls”. This is where they meet their fate- death in the bullring at the hands of bullfighters.
This is so popular that is televised live in Spain. It was only a matter of time until someone met his fate by a bull. Do I feel sorry for this man? No. Do you?
