Can anyone explain why a person who was trying to park his car in “his” parking space in front of his home ran over a dog in “his” spot, not once, not twice, but three times and claims it was an accident even though neighbors were screaming and pleading for him to stop? And in the end Oreo, a 5 yr. old Cocker Spaniel who was a certified therapy dog, lingered and suffered for days until died he from massive internal trauma on March 14th of this year.
Oreo was not only a certified therapy dog but a dog who had a special connection to autistic and handicapped children. What a special gift Oreo had. Check out Oreo here.
What would cause a man or woman to run over a dog three times? Some say this man was hostile to most of his neighbors, possessive of his parking space and some possible threats were allegedly made of snow removal to Oreo’s owner earlier this winter. But come on, to brutally kill an innocent dog is a sign of someone so completely unstable. Something has to change.
There is a group of people who have come together “to effect change that protects all innocent animals from the callous actions of humans and to support the owner/trainer of Oreo and make sure a tragedy like this never happens again.” You can check out more of Oreo’s story on facebook and twitter.
RIP Oreo. I can’t begin to understand what lurks inside a person’s head to kill you in such a cold-blooded manner. You helped so many through your therapy skills with children and now you have so many to help you and your trainer/owner get justice for your brutal killing.
My condolences to Oreo’s family and to all the kids he has helped.
Many thanks for Linda G. for sending me this story.
