Pitbulls are a popular breed and for good reason; they can be wonderful, well mannered dogs. At the Humane League, we see many Pitbulls come through our doors who are not spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering is part of responsible pet ownership and is especially important for Pitbulls as it can decrease the likelihood of aggressive behavior as well as the tendency to roam the neighborhood. Most importantly, spaying or neutering can prevent the births of unwanted litters of puppies who could end up at shelters. As part of our commitment to creating a community where all pets are protected and wanted, the Humane League is offering a low cost spay/neuter clinic exclusively for Pitbulls and Pitbull mixes. The clinic will be held on Wednesday, July 14, at the Willow Street Campus of the Lancaster Career and Technology Center. All dogs MUST have proof of a current rabies vaccination. Fees are as follows:Male Dog: $50Female Dog up to 35 lbs: $65Female Dog 36-75 lbs: $85Female Dog 76-100 lbs: $100To schedule an appointment, call (717) 393-6551 ext. 302. Spaces are limited.
