Hillside SPCA, located in Pottsville, PA, is offering “no fee” cat adoptions during this month. I apologize for not posting this earlier. June is National Adopt-A-Cat-Month. You still have a few days remaining to go visit and adopt their cats that so desperately need homes!
Hillside is a no-kill animal shelter and keeps each pet they receive until each finds a home.
Please save a life and adopt! Too many animals and not enough people willing to keep their commitment to their pet by keeping them for their entire lives and not enough people willing to adopt has caused a nationwide problem in shelters and rescues that is unrelenting. Please be a part of the solution.
Here is an excerpt from Hillside’s Facebook Page about their cat adoptions. Please take advantage of their generosity while there’s still time.
Note- You must still fill out adoption forms and pass the “sniff” test.
“June is ADOPT A SHELTER CAT MONTH. The only operating animal shelter in Schuylkill county, the Hillside SPCA, will be offering “NO FEE” cat adoptions to qualified adopters for the entire month of June. As summer approaches, shelters will experience increased numbers of unwanted, stray, and abused felines. Add current economic conditions to that, and Hillside’s population will swell beyond capacity. All cats are inoculated, wormed and feline leukemia tested before they are adopted. Each and every beautiful, needy cat that resides at Hillside will make a wonderful, loving pet for anyone. Hillside SPCA’s management and staff are hoping many will TAKE ADVANTAGE of the no fee adoptions, and add a new furry feline friend or two to their families.”
Here is one example of the work Hillside does on behalf of animals. If you click over to their website, you can the amazing lengths the staff will go to help animals in need.
Colgate came in with a very infected jaw. Upon a visit to the vet it was discovered that not only was his top canine loose on his left side, but what was thought to be bad teeth was a broken jaw with a totally exposed jaw bone. Colgate doesn’t hold any grudges in spite of his plight. He is very friendly and loves company. His jaw has been repaired and he is on the mend .A foster home or a permanent home to convalesce would make a great difference to his welfare. Please contact the shelter directly at 570-622-7769. if you would like to help with Colgate’s veterinary care, a donation to Joe’s Fund would be greatly appreciated. Simply visit www.hillsidespca.com/donations.htm and CHOOSE JOE’S FUND WHEN GIVING. Thank you from Colgate and all of us at the Hillside SPCA.
