I received an email telling me that the following pets from the Hillside SPCA (hillsidespca.com) are in URGENT need of forever homes NOW!!
I hope you can give one of these adorable pets a second chance!
This is Spott. His owner passed away and had lived his life chained up outside. Now he is finally able to roam around without a chain. He’s happy and loves to have his belly rubbed!! He also LOVES to cuddle according to his shelter mom. Spott gets along with female dogs or a submissive male. And, by the way, this guy will stick to you like velcro. He loves to be your companion. Oh and one more thing ~ this amazing dog is blind. Please give him a chance at a happy life. For more information , contact Liz at eap175@psu.edu
Cashew wasn’t feeling well so he was taken to the vet. The vet thinks he has diabetes insipidus. He drinks alot of water and urinates alot. With daily meds, he will feel better. Cashew is a Beagle-mix who loves people!! He is great with other dogs, housebroken and is a sweetheart!!
Rufus, pictured here, is a 2 yr.old flat coat Retriver mix who came into the shelter as a stray. He was very shy and it has taken him time to adjust but he is coming around. Rufus LOVES to play ball, is smart and knows the commands ~ sit and shake. Because he is a bit on the timid side, it would be better if he went to a home with no kids. He has been characterized as a beautiful, sweet gentleman. I couldn’t agree more. For more info, contact Janine @ dobes_r_gr8@yahoo.com.
This is Laker, a Golden Retriver mix who came into Hillside as a stray. When he came he was dragging his hind end. Thinking he was a hit by a car, he was taken to a vet immediately. The vet said he wasn’t hit by a car but has no hip muscle left. He has made some improvements since entering Hillside. But whatever “problem” he has, Laker is not fazed by it. He would make someone very happy if given the chance!
Persimmons was abandoned in his previous home when his owners moved out. Persimmons is neutered and friendly but would do best in a home without other male cats.
