The American Humane Association is sponsoring the 2012 Hero Dog Awards and Daniel, the Miracle Beagle, is on a campaign to outlaw the use of carbon dioxide chambers for animal euthanasia and promote pet adoptions. His efforts on the campaign “tail” have led him to run as a nominee in the “emerging hero” category as told by his guardian, Joe Dwyer.
What makes Daniel worthy of hero status? Joe and Daniel ask you to check out his unique story by clicking on the “Conversation with Daniel” video here. You will be amazed by Daniel’s story.
Daniel was rescued from an Alabama shelter after surviving a carbon dioxide gas chamber. Daniel is on a campaign to end this barbaric practice of using gas chambers to kill shelter pets. Daniel became the impetus for SB 1329 in PA, banning the use of gas chambers in shelters in our state.
Daniel and Joe attended a rally in Chester County last year held by Senator Dinniman, main sponsor of this bill. Daniel has become a bit of a celebrity. He was on the Anderson Cooper’s morning program. He has also been on a Chinese tv show. Joe was also a guest on my tv show to help promote SB 1329.
Daniel wants to use his celebrity status after surviving a gas chamber to end this practice that is still being used in 31 states and to promote adoption.
