The Philadelphia Gun Club, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, held a live pigeon shoot on Friday, December 4th. According to SHARK, an animal rights organization who has been fighting to stop live pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania, was there to legally film the slaughter using a drone.
Live pigeon shoots involve launching live birds from boxes and shooting for fun and if it sounds as atrocious, believe me, it is. It is not a “sport.” There is no hunting involved. It is a group of people who want to shoot, maim and kill live pigeons for the sheer “enjoyment.”
SHARK states the event not only openly violated Governor Wolf’s COVID-19 orders by having too many people in a small area with none wearing masks or social distancing but also had shooters from out-of-state participating in the event. SHARK states that those shooters traveling from Connecticut and New Jersey were supposed to quarantine or been tested.
The animal rights group says no one would shut down the event. SHARK called the Bensalem Police and “they refused to do anything,” said Steve Hindi, President of SHARK.
“One of our people spoke directly to Fred Harran, Public Safety Director. Harran said he has not, and will not enforce the Governor’s orders. We called the State Police, and they refused to take action.”
“We called the Governor’s office, the Bucks Department of Health and the PA Department of Health. No one did anything.”
Everyone involved made a complete mockery of Governor Wolf’s orders.” This was not the first such event held by the PGC. A similar event that was also filmed on November 13. We filed a complaint with the PA Department of Health and asked for an investigation. Nothing happened.
SHARK received no response after writing to Director Harran and Bensalem Mayo Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo multiple times warning them of the risk of having such an event in their town. According to statistics released by the state, COVID cases are rising in Bensalem.
Apparently, the rules under Governor Wolf, according to SHARK, “If you are wealthy and connected, you get to break the rules that everyone else is forced to obey” which I wholeheartedly agree.
SHARK is disgusted that events are allowed to be held in which the authorities are turning a blind eye, says Hindi He says there is an upcoming event at the gun club in two weeks. The animal rights group will be there to film it and expose the hypocrisy of the police and the Governor Wolf’s meaningless orders.

Wolf is a hypocrite! It’s do as I say and not as I do. Some people are too oblivious to see what he’s really doing to the people in Pennsylvania. Wake up people! This isn’t about protecting you but controlling you. Live in a socialist or communist country and you will see the similarities to what this and other governors are doing. It’s all hidden behind a great facade.
