Melissa Bishop, Director of Development for East Coast Animal Rescue, a wildlife sanctuary, is my guest. Tune in as she explains how this rescue is not a zoo. In fact, it helps to save animals from zoos.
East Coast gives forever homes to exotic animals who have been displaced due to old age, lab retiring, or the pet trade industry.
Once animals find their homes here, they stay for the remainder of their lives! “Our greatest desire is to improve the quality of life for each furry family member and provide a lifetime of care. We provide care through all stages of life. You will see young animals and our senior family members with arthritis, ailments, and would not be considered good exhibits.”
“To us it is part of the cycle of life, at each stage they get the support and care needed. They are not exhibits, they are family. Each are receiving great vet care by multiple vets. Many are on some type of medication. Money that is donated or raised does not go to Safari Rides or air conditioned souvenir shop or dining facility, it goes to the animals well being and care.”
Tune in as we talk about the 40 species of animals they house and call family. A very unique place located in Adams County, Pennsylvania.
Tune in Wednesday, May 24th at 6:30 PM for this program.
