This is Daisy in happier times. Daisy was reported missing over two weeks ago by her owners in Saratoga County, New York.
Luckily, Daisy was found by a group of hunters last week. You can view the news report here. Unfortunately the road to her discovery is grisly one. Daisy, a 4 yr. old beagle, had been bound with duct tape around her head, parts of her body including her front legs and stuffed in a garbage bag, dumped deep in the woods. She had been left to die. The person or persons who committed this atrocity did not cover her nostrils. Why is beyond me but all I can say is thank God!
Ed Dandaraw is the hunter who first came upon the moving garbage bag and he wants to know how or why someone could do this to a poor defenseless dog. I am surmising Ed isn’t aware of the cat who was duct-taped the other month in Philadelphia. Well, Ed, people who commit animal cruety such as this, are sick- plain and simple. There is no other reasoning behind this cruel act of inhumanity against man’s best friend.
Daisy’s ears are injured and infected and she has lost weight but is expected to make a full recovery. She is one lucky dog. And for all those who want to bash hunters, be thankful- they were the ones who saved this poor dog’s life!
When you are involved in animal welfare you see the best and the worst in people. Those who do everything to sincerely help the voiceless and those who perpetrate horrific acts against animals. Whatever person(s) (and I use this term loosely) did this to Daisy has already proven himself/herself to be a danger to animals. What is the person capable of doing to a person? Wake up people and see the connection between animal and people abuse. We live in a sick world and it’s time we crack down on these criminals to stop this vicious cycle.
