Cecil the Lion- who hasn’t heard of him after the social media blitz sent the internet on fire for the last month and a half after his death by a dentist who poached him in Zimbabwe last month?
After the 13 yr. old’s death, people were calling for harming or the death of the dentist, Walter Palmer, via social media. Palmer is the person who killed Cecil illegally last month. Protests were held outside of his dental practice. For a number of weeks, this story stayed in the headlines among news and entertainment programs along with celebrities tweeting their anger about Cecil’s death.
Why were/are people so enraged over the death of one lion? Poaching of lions and other animals is not uncommon in Zimbabwe or in other parts of Africa. What separates the death of this blacked-maned king of the jungle from others?
Is the anger of the killing of Cecil the Lion misplaced outrage? Tomorrow night, I will address this topic along with a guest. Please join the conversation. Share your thoughts on Cecil’s death.

I hope he loses his business for killing Cecil! He deserves it.

I caught your show. You were on fire!! You were great and going up against your husband like that. I loved it!! I think it’s stupid to take photos of dead animals, too. It won’t stop my husband either, as you know. Way to go, Tina! Great show!
