CBS has failed to respond to calls to stop allowing the electrocution of horses as seen on the show, National Finals Rodeo (NFR), which was held in Las Vegas from December 1-10 2016 and aired on CBS Sports Network. Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) released a video last month showing a number of instances when rodeo personnel used an electro-shocking device on the horses. I had written about SHARK’s investigation earlier this month.
SHARK President, Steve Hindi, reached out to CBS CEO Les Moonves numerous times about the deliberate infliction of suffering for entertainment purposes but there has been no response. SHARK is committed “to redoubling their efforts to hold CBS accountable for airing and profiting from this disgusting rodeo.” “Horses are electrocuted because it is pain that makes them appear wild,” states Hindi. “CBS cannot claim to be an ethical corporation or have any standard of decency when innocent animals are tortured for money.”
The video can be seen here:

• Miller Manufacturing, the creator of the Power-Mite, has specifically stated that it should never be used on horses because it will cause pain and suffering to horses. The following are quotes from Miller http://sharkonline.org/index.php/hot-shots
“We do not recommend our products be used in rodeos.”
“We only recommend our products be used on hogs and cattle. Do not use on horses, they are much more sensitive.”
“Any use for entertainment purposes is not something we support or condone.”
If you’re interested in signing the petition SHARK created which calls for CBS to server all ties to the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) and NFR, feel free to add your name and a statement, if you wish –

This is animal cruelty! Can’t they be arrested? The ones who hurt the horses? Probably not since they’re affiliated with a large organization with lots of money. People need to stand up and let our cries be heard. We can’t let CBS get away with this garbage. Allowing horses to be electrocuted, on air? I don’t think so. Call the powers-that-be.

The liberal media and how they think. Not doing a damn thing about animal cruelty but they sure as hell will bash our new president who was voted in by American citizens.

This is animal cruelty. Something needs to be done. I don’t like this group with their big mouths, lipping off all the time expecting anyone and everyone to stop what they’re doing because they say so. They’re right but I wish it wasn’t them.

SHARK has done some amazing work for animals over the years. There are times when a “big mouth” is needed to expose the truth. SHARK works very hard on their investigations to expose animal cruelty. I give them props for what they do.
Thank you for your opinion. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Failing to do the right thing for the horses makes all involved as guilty as the ones who’ve been inflicting the abuse on them. It’s a mistake for CBS to ignore the allegations. They are now culpable and should be held accountable for their actions or refusal to act upon the findings once they were told and shown the truth.

Very good insight for which I can’t disagree with you. Thank you!

Pa has their farm show in Harrisburg this week where they are doing things with animals. I hate seeing it.

Boycott CBS Sports Network!

Profit is more important than the well being of an animal. They don’t feel pain or have emotions as they’d you to think. Isn’t it great? Not giving a damn about animals and let them be subjected to be electrocuted repeatedly! The world sickens me the way too many think toward animals. Why can’t they be charged with animal cruelty?
