Butterscotch
A couple of months ago, I told you a story about a woman who had died and left behind 15 cats. All of them were well taken care of, loved, had been given all of their shots and socialized. It was urgent to find temporary homes for these cats.
One by One Cat Rescue was the organization that came to the rescue for eight of the cats. They have done a fantastic job with these cats. I had met up with Deb Hauptman from One by One at PetSmart (Temple) when these cats were brought in and handed over to their foster “parents”. All of us who had joined forces to save these cats had a reunion at PetSmart. It was a great moment because all of us knew their lives had been spared.
Butterscotch (pictured above) is one of those cats who is now available looking for a permanent , loving home. He is being fostered by Val, a volunteer with One by One. Butterscotch has only one eye and he has finally decided that getting his eye meds isn’t that bad, according to Val. Val says he is still a bit nervous and shy, but he is coming around slowly. He needs to be with someone who has patience and understanding for his current situation. He also likes to rub against walls and furniture and will purr when he is picked up but won’t come to you willingly. It seems all Butterscotch needs is more time. Do you have the time and the home for this precious cat? To see more photos of Butterscotch and to view a video of him click on this page.
Patchy ~ 20 month old sweetie
Patchy can be found at PetSmart in Temple. According to Gwen, a 1by1 volunteer, Patchy is doing great. She said his progress has been amazing. Gwen told me that Patchy is “just the sweetest cat ever!” Patchy has a tiny, squeaky meow and loves to sit on laps. He gets along great with other cats. He would make a great addition to any family. Even though Patchy has a deformed left eye, he hasn’t let that stop him from enjoying life! To read more about this sweetie and to view a video of him, click here.
Meet Mrs. Norris
Mrs. Norris is a Maine Coone mix cat; however some think she may be a purebred brown-patcheed Main Coon. You can see Mrs. Norris , up close and personal, at PetSmart in Wyomissing. Mrs. Norris is a GORGEOUS cat with her luxurious long hair, who needs a special person who will understand her “kitty quirks”. Mrs. Norris is nine months old, loves to give hugs (she will place both of her legs around your neck!), doesn’t shed (wow!) , is spayed and littertrained and loves to play!
However, Mrs. Norris does not get along with other pets. She needs to be the only pet in your home. The good part about this is that she also likes spending time alone. She is a special girl. If you would like to see more photos or see a video of her click here.
