A female black cat, aged approximately 18 months, found on the side of a North Wyomissing Boulevard in Berkshire Heights, Wyomissing, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, December 27th with a bullet lodged near her spine has succumbed to her wounds this afternoon.
The cat named Wednesday did not have use of her back legs when she was found. She dragged herself across the road when found by James Gunda and his stepdaughter, Morgan Dietrich.
Wednesday was taken to Friends Animal Hospital last night by a neighbor who posted the story on Berks County Cat Search’s facebook page. The young feline was kept in isolation due to the risk of having rabies.

Gunda and Morgan had to go to the hospital emergency room Wednesday evening after the wounded cat bit them when trying to help her.
Wednesday is most likely a feral cat since Gunda stated that he and Morgan saw this cat since she was “a little kitten in the shrubbery catching field mice” and “wasn’t really friendly.”
Wednesday did not have a microchip.
There is no known assailant in this disturbing, violent case of animal cruelty. If you know anything, you are asked to call the police or the Animal Rescue League humane investigation division at 610-373-8830.

Wednesday had to be scared to death after being shot and not able to walk. I hope they find the person responsible for this cat’s death!

Have they found out who did this to this cat ? I know people who are really cruel to feral cats. They say it’s all fun and games to hurt them. There are sick people in this world who deserve the same thing back.
Tina Evangelista-Eppenstein says
No, they haven’t found the person)s) responsible for this cat’s death. Yes, there are too many sick people in this world who hurt animals.
Thank you.
