November is National Canine Cancer Awareness Month. Unfortunately, my dog Jazz was diagnosed with oral melanoma earlier this month. Pictured is Jazz after a radiation treatment last week.
Wednesday evening on BCTV, I will be talking about canine cancer and the impact it has not only on your beloved pet but the entire family. I can’t begin to express the fear that is caused when you hear the Big C word.
CANCER….dreadful, horrible, not my dog, NO!
Sadly 1 out of 4 dogs will have been diagnosed this year. Millions of dogs have cancer. Cats also get cancer but not at the same rate as dogs do.
Ginger Morgan, Executive Director of 2dogs2000miles, will be my guest, as we discuss the early warning signs, prevention, the types of treatment and the importance of check-ups for your pet. We also discuss that all hope is not lost when your pet receives the diagnosis of cancer. Advances in canine cancer care have made a difference in many dogs’ lives.
Tune in and learn about the facts of canine cancer this Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM on BCTV. Locally, you can view the show on Ch. 13 (Comcast) or Ch. 19 (Service Electric) or streamline it live on bctv.org. This is a half-hour, live program and callers are encouraged to call in with questions or comments. You can also email me personally, if you wish at tevangelistaepp@yahoo.com.
