Tune into my tv show tomorrow night when the topic will concentrate on PA’s animal welfare legislation that has languished for years with our legislators.
Joining me will be Jenny Stephens, Executive Director of North Penn Puppy Mill Watch, Tina Sowicz, also of North Penn Puppy Mill Watch and Mike Romberger of Dogs Deserve Better.
Points of interest will include the new revisions being proposed to our new dog law- Act 119- that will inevitably reverse the changes we that were made when this piece of legislation passed in 2008.
We will discuss the reasons why it is taking six years for anti-tethering legislation to be passed. We will touch upon abolishing the gas chamber as a horrific choice for euthanasia. That’s right. Death by gas chamber is still being used in PA.
Why is there a 48- hour hold on dogs before euthanizing when entering shelters but not with cats? If you are a regular reader to this blog, you know that in PA, shelters are allowed to destroy (euthanize) any cat the moment they are signed over to such shelter.
Join me tomorrow night at 6:30PM on BCTV. You can streamline it live. Just go to the top of the page where it says BCTV and click on Watch BCTV. You can also watch it locally on Ch. 13 (Comcast) or Ch. 19 (Service Electric).
