Meet Shadow- the poor, unsuspecting six month old kitten who was stuffed inside a homemade bong created by a Nebraska man who thought his cat was too hyper and needed to “mellow out”. Like, yeah man.
Acea Schomaker, 20 yrs old, decided he would smoke marijuana through a piece of garden hose attached to a duct-taped plastic glass box (12″ by 6″) in which Shadow had been stuffed.
Luckily the local authorities and the Capital Humane Society were called to Shadow’s rescue. Shadow was dazed but is going to be fine – thank God!
Schomaker was arrested and released on $400.00 and faces drug and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.
This isn’t the first case of blowing pot smoke in a pets face. Another man blew pot smoke in a puppy’s face until he (the puppy) passed out in 2008. With the help of employees at a Petland store, the Pomeranian was stolen and this is what they did. Just for the thrill of it. The puppy recovered and was adopted.
Upon further researching, I found out that blowing pot smoke in a puppy or dog’s face isn’t that bad- What?!! It’s been stated that if they enjoy it, do it. It doesn’t appear to be fatal.
But, I also read you shouldn’t feed pot to your pet. This can prove to have serious consequences. I guess that’s a good point to remember.
If I said it once, I’ll say it again, I will never comprehend people’s motives for hurting, abusing and committing cruel acts against animals. Do I feel blowing pot smoke in your pet’s face is safe? Frankly, I don’t care if someone wants to fry their own brain cells by smoking pot. A person is responsible for his or her own actions. But when you forcibly try to hurt innocent victims such as pets or children, the answer to my question is HELL NO!
