Anikita (short form of the Greek work Aniketos, meaning Unconquerable)This special rescue cat came into the Cat Shack’s care after teenagers shockingly set her on fire. She was only a 6-week-old kitten at the time. Thankfully a neighbor witnessed the crime and called for help. Anikita spent 3 days receiving intensive vet care and when she was stable enough to be released, she entered Cat Shack foster care for her long recovery.
In spite of her horrible ordeal, she was one of the friendliest, most affectionate kittens you could ever meet. She had 3rd degree burns and had some area of bone exposed on a leg. She received months of treatment and eventually healed physically. She lost part of her ears and the tip of her tail, and sports several scars but otherwise she is a normal, happy and beautiful cat. She has a wonderful personality and an amazing strong spirit!
IMOM is an organization begun as a result of one very special cat named Magic. The bond between Magic and his mom continues to live on despite the cat’s death in 1998. Magic’s mom made a promise to him. Read about the touching story by clicking on the first line of this entry.
The bond is so reminiscent of my bond with Shadow who sadly passed away alittle over two months ago. Shadow has been an inspiration to me as well to use to help other animals. But, I digress.
I hope you will vote for Anikita, one very fortunate kitten who was brutally burned but saved by the wonderful people of the Cat Shack.
Today is the last day to vote!
