Imagine if you will, 14 adult cats and 2 kittens crammed into fruit boxes, closed tightly with electrical tape and dumped alongside a country home. Imagine ~ because it’s true!
Early yesterday morning, approximately 4 AM, a family who lives near by the One by One Rescue Cat Shelter, heard someone drive up in front of their house. The boxes were discovered later in the morning by this family.
Who could commit such a callous act? We will probably never know. What is certain is that these cats had no chance to escape and no water. That alone is horrific. But in this oppressive heat wave we are experiencing, those cats are lucky to be alive, period.
And they are. One by One has taken in all of the cats. They are already filled to capacity. One by One is vetting all of these cats at their own expense. This is a true financial hardship for this dedicated group.
They are asking for the public’s help. They desperately need financial help. Some or all of these cats may be ill which is an extra financial burden. One by One is a no-kill rescue. They will take care of these cats and none will be in jeopardy of losing their lives. One by One is privately run and receives no state funding of any kind.
I’m asking you , the public- the cat lovers, dog lovers, all pet lovers, please, if you can , please donate to One by One to help them with the rescue of these 16 cats.
You can send your donation to One by One No-Kill Cat Rescue, PO Box 226, Kutztown, PA 19530…marked for 16 precious lives.
And if you have any information regarding who did this to these cats, please contact One by One.
