The Pennsylvania SPCA announced they are offering a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for allegedly attacking a young emaciated pit bull with a hatchet in Allentown.
An investigation is ongoing which began Monday, November 2nd, when the young pit bull named Sally, was picked up by police and taken to the Lehigh County Humane Society. Sally was then taken to the Allentown Animal Clinic where she received care for her wounds.
Her wounds consisted of scratches and a traumatic wound to the head which the veterinarians believe may have been caused by a hatchet or small ax.
There are no leads in this case but the investigation into who committed this heinous crime is current active.
After treatment, Sally was recuperating at the Lehigh County Humane Society in Allentown and expected to make a full recovery.
Due to the generosity of two anonymous donors, the PSPCA’s $1,000 reward will hopefully encourage the public to help solve this case. If someone saw something, they are encouraged to come forward.
Anyone with information in this case should call the Pennsylvania SPCA’s Cruelty Hotline at (866) 601-SPCA. Tips can be left anonymously.

Prayers for Sally. What in the world is happening to abuse so many pets? Using a hatchet plus starving her? Poor baby.
